The Importance of Trucking During the Holidays

November 29, 2017

We're in the midst of the holiday season and of course that means buying gifts. Whether it's purchases made online at sites like Amazon or made in person at your nearest retailer, it's almost a guarantee that a truck was used to get those items into your hands.

Without the trucking industry, the holiday season would be vastly different than we know it. In addition to trucking delivering the products you buy, there are trucks involved with the manufacturing and delivery of the raw materials used to make those products. Trucks also are involved with delivering fuel to the gas stations that keep your family going about their shopping.

There are 3.5 million truck drivers who sacrifice time with their own families throughout the year for their work. It's especially important during the holidays to recognize that sacrifice and appreciate the work they do. Take a few seconds to acknowledge that truck driver who's refueling next to you at a truck stop or delivering a gift to your front door. That small gesture means a lot to those who are so often taken for granted.
