 Cowen has a Satisfactory Safe Stat Rating from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Cowen also boasts an excellent safety record and has an ISS-2 value of 27, issued by FMCSA. This is the highest rating given by the FMCSA.
Cowen Truck Line's has received the Gold Fleet Safety Award from Great West Casualty the past four years. Only a small percentage of Great West insured receive the Gold Award, which represents outstanding achievement in highway traffic safety (pictured to the right).
 For the first time in many years, OTA revived its fleet safety awards program, and the winners for this 2006 received their recognition at the 2006 Convention at the Bertram Inn in Aurora. Great West Casualty Co. is the sponsor of the handsome plaques and two grand prize crystal tractor-trailers.
The contest was divided into two divisions: small (0-5 million miles) and large (over 5 million). The small division was further divided into four size categories and the large into two. Cowen Truck Line was the winner in the 1,000,001 - 3,000,000 and won the Grand Champion Trophy in the Small Division (0-5 million miles).
| Cowen awards drivers each year with safe driving awards. These are awarded for years of safe driving without a chargeable accident. This year we awarded 53 safe driver awards. Awards were as high as 26 years safe driving down to one year. They totaled 368 years of safe driving with over 44 million safe miles. |
