Cowen Truck Line, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Robert and Lavone Cowen. Bob Cowen had been an independent owner operator for twenty years prior to starting the company in 1972 with two tractors and three trailers. Mr. Cowen continued as one of the drivers until the company grew and was incorporated in 1977. In 1980 Tim Cowen, Bob & Lavone's son joined the company after completing college. Since that time the company has grown to it's present size of 70 tractors and 200 trailers.

In 1997, Cowen Truck Line opened a new logistics business in Ashland, Ohio called Cowen Logistics, Inc. With the opening of this office, Cowen has been able to expand services with existing customers as well as new customers by handling all modes of transportation throughout 48 states and Canada.

In June of 1999 Cowen Truck Line moved into a new 5,000 square foot office and 14,000 square foot maintenance facility in Perrysville, Ohio. This new facility has allowed the company to continue to grow and service additional customers.

Cowen Truck Line remains a family owned and operated truckload carrier since the company was founded in 1972. Cowen prides itself on courteous, experienced and service oriented drivers and staff. These experienced drivers and staff along with our clean reliable equipment have been the most important factors in the company's growth to it's present level and will continue to be instrumental in the future growth of Cowen Truck Line.
